Blog #11: New Year, New Post.

The last time I wrote, I had met Alainna, but we were still building the foundation of our relationship. Today, we are engaged, it happened on May 31st, 2024. One of the best moments in my life that I can remember and I’m sure I will forever remember. She knew that I had a ring, she even knew what the ring looked like, but she had no idea when I was going to do it and that’s exactly what I wanted. I feared that if I didn’t have some element of surprise, it just wouldn’t be special. A bit dramatic thinking, but I made it happen. I tricked her too many times to count and eventually we had a big Disney trip coming up, which is where she thought it would happen. Little did she know, that was all a trick, we were going to Disney but her expectations on Disney was my goal so that I could swoop in a couple weeks before and do it without her expecting it. 

The plan I made was we were going to pick up my sister from the airport who was visiting. Before we did, we would get some dinner while we waited for her and then after dinner, we stopped by Barnes and Noble on the way back to the car to go to the airport. In the bookstore is where the ring would be, placed in a golden snitch ring box in the Harry Potter section, which is where I said my “speech” and popped the question. Which she said yes. We are getting married exactly 1 year from the date, May 31, 2025 which I think is pretty cool. So all that to say, we are now in the stages of preparing for a marriage which is certainly challenging but also exciting. Getting the chance to also grow closer by working with each other on planning and preparing ourselves for a life together forever certainly has aspects that can seem a bit difficult to resonate with at times. When you get to see the person you get to share your life, it takes those feelings and changes them to something indescribable. The closest word that I can think of is joy. 

Through all of this, personally a lot has been accomplished other than relationship progress as well. For example, in my current career, I am working as a sales development rep for Command Alkon. This company has truly changed my life and has provided me with so much opportunity and growth and it has been less than a year! I won the Rookie SDR award and getting to serve an industry that really is impactful in the world around us is awesome. My shows with Don’t Tell Comedy have become frequent and successful. Having the chance to bring laughter to people’s lives and also bring exposure to local businesses is a great feeling and I look forward to sharing more on that in the future. I have so much more that I would love to share but to end on a quick note to leave content for other posts, I am buying my first house and starting that process this week!

I am thankful for the opportunities that God has brought me, the people God has brought me (so many good people), the health and happiness He has brought me and so much more. I hope to continue to share that with you all and ask that you do the same for me!
